2 lb. ground beef (or 1 lb. sausage and 1 lb. ground beef)
2 onions, chopped
2 green peppers, chopped
2 cups celery, chopped
1 jalapeno, seeded and ribbed then diced
2 tbsp. garlic powder
4 bay leaf
6 tbsp. chili powder
4 tsp. basil
2 tsp. sugar
4 tsp. cumin
3 tbsp. chili seasoning
4 cans tomatoes (diced) *suggest Rotel brand
4 cans beans, drained and rinsed
1 can tomato soup
2 cans water
1 tbsp. beef base
Brown ground beef and sausage, drain fat.
Add rest of ingredients, except beans.
Bring to boil
Transfer to hot crock pot and simmer for 2 hours, stirring.
Or simmer on low for 1 hour, stirring often.
Serve with shredded cheese and sour cream.
